The regeneration project of the former Dormisch area in Udine is a virtuous example of urban transformation, which has restored life and meaning to a former industrial site in a state of abandonment.
The project has successfully integrated historical memory, technological innovation and a focus on sustainability, creating a multifunctional hub that houses the new headquarters of the ITS Academy, laboratories, offices, a restaurant, public spaces and car parks. Particular emphasis has been placed on enhancing the historical architectural elements, environmental comfort and accessibility, thanks to cutting-edge design solutions and the use of renewable energy. The new public square and open spaces promote the connection between the historic centre and the surrounding neighbourhoods, making the former Dormisch site a new landmark for the city, a symbol of rebirth, inclusion and innovation.
