‘Number 10’ – the ‘number 10s’ of Genoa’s breakwater
The New Genoa Breakwater is one of the most complex maritime projects ever undertaken in Italy: caissons up to 33 metres high, seabeds consolidated at record depths of up to 50 metres and a new breakwater extending 450 metres from its current position.
As designers, together with Ramboll UK, at F&M Ingegneria SpA we are responsible for the design of maritime structures and caissons, structural and geotechnical analyses on complex seabeds, and integrated engineering solutions to ensure safety, functionality and sustainability.
Thank you to Webuild for sharing the “Number 10” facts about the breakwater: behind these numbers are advanced engineering processes and teamwork that is redesigning the accessibility of the port of Genoa to new-generation ships.
