From “Bronx” to an institutional hub. Padua’s new Police Headquarters takes shape.
Yesterday, the Padua City Council approved the final design for the new Police Headquarters on Via Anelli. And F&M Ingegneria, the lead firm of the multidisciplinary design team alongside Lvl Architettura Srl, Proap, Semper Srl by Cinzia Rampazzo, Tca Denise Borsoi, and architect Anna Maria Portoghese, has been there from day one.
The numbers: a €62 million investment, 29,160 m² of floor space, 700 staff members, and over 500 visitors per day. On the second floor, the Interregional Forensic Police Office for the Triveneto region.
A project that, in the words of Architect Schiavon, “is not just a police headquarters; we have managed to create a public space, which is the fundamental ingredient for urban regeneration”: staff housing, a cafeteria, a chapel, and a public square open to the public.
F&M Ingegneria’s contribution covers general coordination, structures, systems, geotechnical engineering, safety, and fire prevention. From design through to operation, scheduled for 2030–2031.
Where there was decay for decades, a modern institutional hub will emerge. The city, as Mayor Giordani said, “is undergoing a transformation,” and we are proud to be part of it.
